And God said,

Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his  kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the face of the earth; and it was so.

And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

And the evening and the morning were the third day.  Genesis 1:11, 12

Paul the apostle of our Lord Jesus Christ, when writing to the disciples of Jesus Christ in Galatia (modern Turkey) said,  “Be not deceived; God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that shall he also reap.”  (Galatians  6:7)

The life of the next generation is in the seed.  This is true of ground crops.  It is true of animal, bird and fish breeding.  It is true for mankind.  It is true also in regards to behaviour expressed in words or actions, and even thoughts.   The law applies to all kinds of sowing, natural and spiritual.

Even man, with all his ingenuity, and clever knowledge, cannot avoid this rule.  It makes no difference whether he has genetically modified anything at all or not.  The thing he sows, he will reap.  Problem with man in general, is that he often does not like what he reaps, especially if he is ‘pushing the envelope’ so to speak.  And this begins with little children all the way up to the very pinnacle of their life. If men (and women) “play God” with the structure of life and create something out of their own imagination – a confusion, as they do, they will reap a just and right reward for that sowing. They will reap confusion to themselves.  And that is the law which God Himself has put in place. And He makes no apology for it or any of His laws.

God formed Adam – the first man from the “dust” of the ground.  There then lay an absolutely perfect specimen of creative work, but it was a lifeless form.  Michaelangelo had nothing on this work of God.  Then the living God who is the Source of all  life, and is Spirit, (‘spirit’ is more dense than physical matter), bent down in the dust of the ground again and breathed into the nostrils of this clay man, something of Himself, the breath – spirit of the Almighty – Yehovah.   The picture of a surf life saver resucitating one rescued from the surf is not unlike what Yehovah God did for Adam, our first earthly father.

God has always been willing to stoop down

and help mankind,

especially when he is unable to help himself.

Jesus Christ is the very proof of that.

Tht first man instantly came to life.  He had now become a living person – a soul, a spiritual being clothed in a body of flesh, with rich healthy blood flowing through his veins, sucking into his lungs rich clean air.  this act of God has never has neve been repeated.

Someone once explained the soul and spirit of man, as a hand inside glove (thin and flexible);  i.e., the physical body of flesh of comparable size and form to the spirit and soul of the real inner person.  So the spirit of Adam, who originally had ability to communicate with the living God, would then communicate to his soul, which then communicated to his body how he should behave. When Adam first opened his eyes, his first sight would have been his Creator God- Yehovah.

God then placed man in the most perfect garden that this earth has ever seen, especially made by the Wise and Wonderful Creator, for the man and his family to live, enjoy and to care for without stress.

In the middle of this paradise Eden, were two trees.  One was the Tree of Life, which fruit was also there to enjoy and would have provided mankind with the necessary nourishment to live for ever.            That other tree was likewise quite different to any other tree.  Every ‘kind’ has its own uniqueness  This second tree was called The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.  Good AND Evil together in the same product.  Its fruit was a mix of good and evil in every particle of its substance.  Imagine having clean looking air coming into your home only to find as you breathed it in you your lungs began to burn like fire; or, having the waiter come to you with a plate of steaming hot  spicy vegetables, but underneath rotting stinking meat; or turning the tap on for a refeshing drink of ‘clean’ water only to find as you drank it, it was evil smelling and toxic. Would you enjoy it?   When I was young I often wondered if anyone had ever been served a lovely looking decorated ‘cake’, only to find that the ‘cake’ was foam sponge.  Sweet and pleasant looking on the outside, but inside….poisonous if eaten. Undigestable.  Such was this second Tree in the middle of the Garden. It looked vey nice, but inside its flesh lay the sting of death.

God who is absolutely holy and has no darkness in Him at all, has no need to hide.  He looked Adam straight in the eye and began to instruct him.   It is a marvellous thing to be able to look someone in the eye in all purity, truthfulness, and love.  People may not look each other in the eye when they talk because there is something to hide, or a fear or embarrassment of some sort, or a difficulty that interferes with such openness.   But God has no such insecurities.  Heaven knows no insecurities.

And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat:  But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it, for in the day that you eat of it, you shall surely die.”  (Genesis 2:16, 17).

When God said you shall surely die, he was speaking to the complete man; his spirit, soul and body.  That perfect man was able to hear clearly and distinctly without any diffculty what God was saying.  Because man is a spiritual person with a soul in a body of clay, God was speaking of two kinds of deaths.  Because man’s spirit is the part of him that can communicate with God and has greatest freedom in doing so, that was the first thing that would be affected by his  disobedience.  If he disobeyed, his spirit would no longer be able to communicate with His Creator.   Their beautifully satisfying fellowship would end, and an impenetrable spiritual barrier would be enforced, and man would not be able to alter that fact by any ingenious methods he might concoct And concoct them to this day he has.

When the phone lines go down, and the satellites go on the blink, man’s ability to communicate as he is used to doing is severely interrupted.  The day is coming when this will occur all over the world.  This will produce great panic, and fear, and knee jerk reactions to numerous calamitous events.  Men will be forced to do things they may never have thought of doing, or ever wanted to do.   If their trust is wholly not in Jesus Christ.

Broken communication is a form of death, because man was designed and made by God to communicate firstly with God, and then each other.   Unwanted silence is at best unpleasant, and at worst., terrifying and soul destroying.

God was warning Adam, in love.  God always speaks in love (not a soft and gooey kind of thing).  His very nature is an immensely strong, pure unfailing and measureless love.  But out of genuine concern for His special creation – man,  God was in effect saying,Your spirit will be cut off from Me and we will not be able to have fellowship as we are now.  I will be hurting for you; you will become subjected to fear of death. Neither you, your wife, nor your offspring will be able to restore our spiritual fellowship on your own.  Your souls will become disoriented, troubled and confused, and your bodies will become subject to sickness and disease, and to die slow deaths.  And all your children who will spring out of your body, will suffer in the same way, to a greater or lesser degree.

There can be no doubt that Adam as he was originally, standing well and upright before God on that remarkable day, had full cognition and spiritual alertness as to what God was saying, and if he had any questions at all, could well have asked Him as a child could ask freely of his father, and just as the disciples of Jesus Christ asked Him what He meant about this or that..

God has always revealed to mankind in one way or another, the things He will do or will allow, if we do or do not obey Him; and such revelation is always for our own good.

And so we read in Genesis chapter 3 and afterwards the tragic reaping of man’s disobedience to his King, his Creator God.  Adam and his wife sowed rebellion, and they reaped its fruit – death.  Both the man and his wife became guilty before Almighty God.   They disobeyed His command.  The Law of sin and death was enacted.  That act of joint disobedience was a sowing of the seeds of death into the whole of humanity, and their into God given environment.

When God saidLet the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit, after its kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the face of the earth; and it was so.    And when…the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after its kind, and the tree yielding fruit whose seed was in itself, after its kind; and God saw that it was good, (Genesis 1:11, 12), we must realize that God at that time had not yet made a body for man from the earth’s dirt.  But in this command of life, the earth itself was to be the incubator if you like for all green plants and earth creatures, as the first chapter reveals.  God’s own law of sowing and reaping was established in every element and sphere.

Adam and Eve sowed rebellion (sin), and they reaped the fruits of rebellion – death.  Man is by nature, rebellious against his God and Creator.  Adam could have choose life or death; but he could not have it both ways.  For whatever reason, he chose death.  And man cannot extricate himself from this cycle of sin and death.  No man can save himself.  He has no spiritual strength to save himself spiritually.  He needs a Spiritual Saviour outside of himself if he is ever to regain individual spiritual fellowship with His Creator Father.  And there is no other Saviour than Yehovah Elohyim.

And this is where we find the very first hard evidence of God’s loving provision for mankind’s rebellious dilemma.  After God, the Judge of all the earth, pronounced just and perfect sentence on the serpent, and, His first two children – Adam and Eve, and all their offspring, for so we all are, He then made full length coats of skins (from some suitable animal) for them to be clothed in.  They had tried sewing leaves of trees together; no doubt the largest ones they could find, for they were overwhelmed with a intense awareness of shame and guilt and they ran to hide themselves from God.

And that is what we all have always tried to do since.  Even to go so far as to deny the very existence of our Creator Father God, is a human attempt to avoid the inevitable day of reckoning with Yehovah God.  If we can convince ourselves that He does not exist, then we think there is no need to be worried or troubled by our own glaring guiltiness; “God does not exist; therefore I have not sinned against Him; I am not guilty; in my own eyes I am perfectly righteous.”

But deny it or not, man is still deeply afraid, and unsatisfied.  For nothing he does satisfies the spiritual cry of his own soul.  NOTHING can replace God.

Mankind who was made in the image and likeness of God has lost the ability to look God in the eye with a clean and pure conscience.  So he does anything and everything he possibly can, to cover up his great sense of guilt; a guilt for which he has no answer within himself.  He is naked before God, and he seeks to clothe himself in his own SELF righteousness. But it is not sufficient.  AND HE KNOWS IT.  But he is proud.

The first animal/s that God had to sacrifice for the covering of Adam and Eve, were the first hard evidence of God’s love and concern.  God took the life of that which He had made – blood was shed, so that His most treasured creatures – mankind, would not be totally without comfort, or hope.   Even in the judgement God pronounced before God’s action of mercy took place, God prophesied that a Seed (a Man-child) would come from Eve and crush (break) the serpent’s head  “And the Lord God said unto the serpent…I will put hostility (hatred) between your seed and her seed…. it (he) shall bruise (snap, overwhelm) your head, and you shall bruise (snap, overwhelm) his heel.” Genesis 3:14-15.

Now we know that “her seed“‘ speaks of Jesus Christ who was born of woman, a daughter of Eve, and “your seed” speaks of Satan using Jewish brethren of Jesus Christ.  The Jews (public officials) were totally jealous of Jesus Christ and wanted Him dead almost from the outset.  Even the kings and princes ruling in Israel were risen up against Jesus (Psalm 2).  All this hostility was the work of Satan using willing jealous men to destroy any hope of man ever being reconciled back to Creator God.  And thus they would be doomed for ever in total and devasting broken fellowship from God who is Light, Love and Life; who is merciful and full of compassion; who is faithful and true; who is generous and kind; who is strong and mighty, and rules over all things.everywhere.

We are all children of Adam in the flesh.  We have all inherited the consequences of Adam’s rebellion.  We have all attempted to justify ourselves to ourselves and others, and even dared to do so before God from whom we cannot hide, nor can fool.  His law, “Whatever a man (or woman) sows that shall he (or she) also reap”  is irrevocable.  Galatians 6:7 (New Testament)

If it were not for Jesus Christ, man would still be forever consigned to a Godless eternity, for after mortal – physical death, his spirit and soul which cannot physically die, not being physical matter, will continue elsewhere where God’s light and glory are not, but where His wrath is consciously and terrifyingly forever known and felt .  God did not mince words, nor does He yet mince words.  He cannot lie, for He is God.  He is forever faithful to His own Word.  And He knows exactly what He said and what He meant by what He said.  How unlike God mankind is today.

If it were not for Jesus Christ, we would remain in our cycle of rebellion, disatisfaction and death, rebellion, disatisfaction and death, rebellion, disatisfaction and death.

…If it were not for Jesus Christ….

Here then is the GOOD NEWS
