And spend much time in earnest heartfelt prayer.

Prayer is not a ritual, but the means God has provided for us to come to Him one on one.

Ask God to teach you to pray.

Genuine prayer will come from the heart, not from the head, nor from a formula – even a religious one.

The Bible is a prayer book which you can discover for yourself.

And in discovering it you will get to know God, not because of what you do so much but because God is rich in mercy toward you, and desires you to come to Him in simple honesty, and pure faith.

Seek the Lord while He may be found.  Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his ways and the unrighteous man this thoughts.

Don’t just gain information in your head – about the Bible or the things written therein.

The Word of God is a Book of Life.

Jesus said – My words are spirit and they are life. John 6:63.

The Bible is the Book that in many ways points to and reveals who Jesus Christ is.

It is only the honest seeker of truth who will find the truth.

Jesus said – I  am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man can come to the Father but by Me.

Find Jesus and you will find Life. Know Jesus and you will know Life.

Say no to Jesus and you will not know His life.  He will not force His life upon you.

John the apostle of Jesus Christ wrote:  But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. John 20:31

Deu 4:29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.
Deu 4:30 When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;
Deu 4:31 (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

Isa 55:6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
Isa 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
Isa 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
Isa 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Isa 55:10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
Isa 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Another simple thing you can dot oadi you is to read out aloud the portion of the Bible for each day.  I have been doing this for years now and it is so rewarding spiritually.  At first I got sick of hearing my own voice, and often thought how dumb it sounded – that is my voice.  What would people think of me etc.

But I put all those worrisome thoughts under the feet of Jesus and simply pressed on, mainly because I wanted to preach to myself.  To read the Scriptures is one thing to read and to hear is another.  I still have to discipline my thoughts which can still wander off on to other things, good or bad.   The mind is one of the biggest battlefields for the beliver in Jesus Christ.

When we  surrender to, and choose to follow, Jesus Christ, we enter into a war that is constant, and will be constant until we meet Jesus in the clouds of Heaven  and are caught up to Him and changed to be like Him, being clothed with a glorified resurrection body like His.

Our walk with Jesus Christ here on earth is a constant battle, because we are walking in the finite body that is subject to things around us both physical and spiritual.  But if we trust in Jesus day by day, He being ever faithful will lead us on the right path, of holiness, right-eousness, and amazing peace.
