GOD’S AMAZING GRACE
AVAILABLE THROUGH JESUS CHRIST
God has in these last days spoken to us in His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds. Hebrews 1:1,2.
There is One God and Father of us all. Ephesians 4:6.
Grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. John 1:14
For by grace are you saved through faith. Ephesians 2:8
What is this grace of God which God has provided for man’s benefit?
Grace is often described as God’s favour given without merit. This is true but it is not the complete story. The first time the word grace is used in the Bible is in Genesis 6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
The word grace here refers to God’s graciousness. Its sub meanings are precious, kindness, pleasant, favoured, beauty.
The first time grace is used in the new testament is in Luke 1:28,
And entering, the angel said to her, Hail, one having received grace! The Lord is with you. You are blessed among women!
This was the beginning of the message God gave the angel Gabriel to give to Mariam (Mary) the mother to be of Jesus (of Nazareth), the Saviour of the world.
Mariam or Miriam (her Hebrew name, by which she would have been called) needed God’s grace just as much as Noah of old did and just as much as we do today. Mariam was born of a woman and her father was of the sons of Adam. She had to offer sacrifices to God for sins and uncleanness according to the law just like all her peers.
By the Holy Spirit she declares ‘
my spirit rejoiced in God my Saviour‘ (Luke 1:47).
She was humble enought to admit her need of a Saviour while she was carrying the Holy babe soon to be called Jesus, in womb. And Jesus, the child, the Son of God she would bring forth, was to be her Saviour and she knew it.
It is by grace that we are saved or delivered or rescued from sin, from the authority of the Devil, and from his kingdom of Darkness, and from the enslavement to sin, and from its guilt, shame, and condemnation.
But grace is more than ‘favour’ as we commonly think of it, or taught. It also includes God’s power working in us for His holy purposes to fashion us into the holy image and likeness of His dear Son.
Quite often Christians think that God’s grace is for sins committed. This is only part of the story. Thank God for sufficient grace for sins committed to bring us to repentance and confession of sin. But if that is all it is to grace, then we will always be chasing our tails, always sinning and never being able to overcome it.
Paul tells us that where sin abounded, grace did much more abound. But grace is not an excuse to sin or an excuse for sin. Grace is the very reason not to sin. Paul says
that grace might reign through righteousness by Jesus Christ
(and reign in us) Romans 5:21
Grace has to do with Jesus Christ.and His life. Grace and truth are intertwined. Real grace of God is impregnated with truth and real truth is impregnated with grace. His life before His death was, and after His resurrection is, without personal sin. Jesus never gave into temptation. To sin is to offend God. Jesus never offended His Father. He said to Peter
watch and pray that you enter not into temptation.
Jesus knew this to be one of His spiritual weapons to overcome temptation. This is what He did personally. And He did it perfectly. That is why He could be the Lamb of God – God’s perfect sacrifice for sin. And Jesus offered Himself once. And that offering of Himself could never be repeated again. Not even in a symbolical way. Jesus offered Himself up for us all. No priest, no bishop, no father, no archbishop, no pope can offer up Jesus in any way whatsoever. His body is not in the tomb. It has been glorified.
And He – Jesus, the God – Man resides in Heaven. That is why Stephen could see by the Spirit, Jesus the Son of Man, standing at the right side of God the Father – Acts 7:56.
The bread which we break in the Lord’s Supper, is not the body of Jesus. It cannot be changed into the body of Jesus. The wine, grape juice in the cup in the Lord’s Supper is not the blood of Jesus Christ. The blood of Jesus was shed once for all thime for all sinners. The body of Jesus was broken once for all thime and for all sinners. The body of Jesus was taken down from the cross on which Jesus died, and was buried in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea. And on the third day according to the Scriptures, Jesus rose from the dead to die no more. He ascended into Heaven in His resurrected body to sit at the Father’s right side, at the seat of power.
The Roman Catholic Mass is a sham. It is a lie. And the pontiffs of Rome know it.
Do you realize dear Roman Catholic person, that each time you ‘celebrate’ the Mass, you are celebrating Christ’s death again?
God said that His Son would die ONCE, for all.
By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Hebrews 10:10.
Note it says the offering of the body of Jesus.
NOT many offerings of the body of Jesus.
Jesus died as Man. God said. Jesus could only die once. Only ONCE.
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Hebrews 9:27.
And do you know that you have entered into a practice which is totally against the counsel of God?
And do you know that the priests under the Roman Catholic Church’s authority have deceived you?
And that they do not wish you to discover for yourself the truth in the Scriptures?
But because they love the the adulation of men, women and children; because they love money and wealth; because they love to lord it over the masses; Because the love to parade around in their priestly garb; because they love to elevate themselves above their fellow men, a thing which Jesus did not do, these usurpers of the truth will not speak the truth, and admit their shameful lies.
They are proud. They are boastful. They lie.
They will one day very soon command every human being to worship the antichrist, and worship Satan.
The pope or popes are not Jesus Christ, nor are they His ambassadors, let alone His vice regent. These men are usurpers of Jesus Christ. Their bodies lie in the duct of earth and their souls if they were unrepentant already, linger on endlessly in the fires of Hell. They have already found out that there is NO PURGATORY>
Jesus Christ is in Heaven sitting at the right hand of the Father. He is soon to return and gather to Himself a pure and unblemished people. A people who have left the unclean places of religion, where idolatries and every evil form of wickedness goes on openly and in secret. God sees your heart, and sees your works and He will judge both by His Word.
Jesus Christ is God eternal can and does reside in those who have trusted in Him by faith according to the Scriptures.
Jesus said in John 15:4 that we must abide in Him and we in Him. His Word must abide in us and We in His word. He Paul says that our fleshy bodies are temples in which God dwells in 1 Cor 6:19.
Examine the Scriptures and read for yourself what God as said we must do and must NOT do. His Word will judge us in the end.
All those who have been washed in the Blood of the Lamb are called saints, and they are also called a kingdom of (or kings and) priests unto God – Revelation 1:6.
Time and again the disciples of Jesus Christ are enjoined to grow in grace. Why? Because grace is the thing that will enable you to overcome sin before it overcomes you. But you must grow in grace, and it must grow in you and me. 2 Peter 3:18 We must increase in grace, the kindness, preciousness, beauty, favour of God.
Grace is our very God given reason NOT TO SIN. To put it in simple terms, many in the church think that grace is for us because we sin.
Is God pleased about us sinning? Does He really mind? Is He concerned whether we overcome sin, or caught in it? Is it a hopless case, and too bad, until we get to Heaven, you’re just going to keep…. on….. sinning? Oh well, you can confess your sins and God will forgive you…everything will be JUUUST fine.
Is that how God sees it? Absolutely not!
Understand this. God hates sin. God will not allow one tiny sin into His Holy House – Heaven. God has provided complete means for us to overcome sin through His Son Jesus Christ. Gopd wants us to be like Him and hate sin like He does. God wants us to take hold of His grace and truth which has come through Jesus Christ, and resist every temptation by the power of His Holy Spirit.
But if we only confess some sins and hang on to others, then unless we repent fully before we die, we will not be allowed into God’s Heaven. We will be sent to the only other place available – HELL. We will be sent there because we loved our one or two sins too much to flee from them. Sin has an end. That end is death. If you do not die to sin in this life, you will not live in God’s Holy presence, but will forever be reliving the same and disgust of your sins forever. Your conscience will be accusing you forever.
Flee to Jesus and flee from sin. Receive the gift of life in Jesus Christ. Receive His grace and mercy and learn to overcome every temptation by the Word of God and the work of the Holy Spirit in your life. Die to sin. And live to God in righteousness. This is the way. Walk in it. Jesus will walk with you every step. Trust only in Him. Obey His word. Do not trust in the arm of your church. Trust in God adn in His Son Jesus Christ.
The Grace of God is the means God has provided for all mankind, to help us over come sin; to help us endure or resist temptation just as Jesus did.
IMPOSSIBLE you say! Jesus was God… that is why He didn’t sin.
Really! Was Jesus tempted at all to sin?
So Jesus was tempted to sin. By whom was He tempted?
By the Devil.
What does the Scripture say about who can be tempted?
Look at James chapter one.
” Let no one being tempted say, I am tempted from God. For God is not tempted by evil, and He tempts no one.” James 1:14.
The devil tempted Jesus. But if Jesus did not sin because He was God, then something is wrong because God cannot be tempted.
Jesus WAS God in the flesh, YET He was fully man – perfect man. Perfect in His soul. Uncorrupted and pure. He did not inherit Adam’s sin, because Adam was not His father in the flesh. The Father of Jesus was God. But Jesus was not conceived by human means. This was a miracle of creation in the virgin Mariam’s womb.
And Jesus remained pure all through His life, in spite of His being severely tempted more severely than most if not more than all. How did He remain pure? Because He laid hold of God’s grace for Himself in every instance to withstand every temptation, from devil or people. He got hold of God’s Word and hid it in His heart so that He would become strong with God’s Word and be able to stand stong in His spirit against sin – Psalm 119:11.
But He laid hold not just for Himself of God’s grace but also because He knew He was to be known as the Head of all creation and the Head of the Body of Christ Ephesians 5:23.
God said of Judah, that the whole head is sick, and the whole heart is faint Isaiah 1:5. Then God says (v6) that from the soles of the feet to the head, there is no soundness in it. This was a reproach against the Almighty who was Israel’s Head.
When Solomon (the head) was ruling in righteousness, the nation (the body) was healthy. But when Solomon turned on God and went backwards as the head of the nation, the nation began to get sick, until it is was completely sick, and then God had to operate on Israel and and cut them off for a time…until they became well again (Ezekiel 37).
So Jesus, as King of Israel – of the Jews – the Hebrew race, and King of kings (a title that He was to inherit after His ascension – Revelation 19:16), had to overcome temptation for his whole body. He couldn’t afford to become sick with sin, who was to be known as the Head of all, the First, the Beginning, the Author of our Salvation, and the Completor or Perfecter of our Salvation.
He said to His disciples, Be of good cheer. I have overcome the world. John 16:33.
He said at another time…the devil, the prince of this world…has nothing in Me. John 14:30. This means that the devil did not have one toehold in the life of Jesus. The devil can only gain access to us through our ignorant or deliberate sins. But gain access he will if we do not deal honestly before God with our sin. The devil lknows his legal ground. Sin is his legal ground. This is why we must count ourselves dead to sin and alive to God. Romans 6:13.
Read the whole book of Romans, and especially chapter 6.
Jesus as Man could be tempted and was tempted. He as Man, had to battle the powers of darkness, just as all other men and have had to and have yet to do so. This is the reason for grace made available to us.
Noah lived in an extremely violent and evil generation. Every other person other than Noah, his wife, his 3 sons and their wives, were corrupted to the core. This was because the Devil and his minions were very much at work with extreme evil work and corrupting by deceit and force every single person on the face of the planet. But the devil does not have the final say about anything. He is a finite creature and is bound to stay within parameters set by God, who was and is his Creator.
God has always had a plan for humanity to be restored back to his Creator. God was to send His Son from Heaven. This Son would be the Eternal Word – and was to be placed in the womb of a virgin in the fulness of time, where the virgin would supply the body of flesh for His Son from Heaven. The Son – the Word of God, whom John the apostle speaks of in John 1:1 – 14, would be called Iesous (in the Greek language), from which we get the English form of the name – Jesus.
Jesus was to be the Promised Seed of the woman.
So, in order for the Devil’s plan to completely corrupt the entire human race to be thwarted, God preserved a man and his family through His mercy and grace. Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Noah with that grace of God was preserved for God’s purposes, so that the Seed of the woman would come through the children of Adam as ordained. Satan while having huge resources in his power, cannot succeed against the Almighty Eternal God, the Creator of all.
Grace. Amazing grace. Glorious grace. Infinite grace.
The measure of grace afforded to Noah did not come in its fulness, though sufficient for the work God wanted to do through Noah for that time.
Grace and truth in its fulness, came through Jesus Christ. Just as it is written in John’s record of the gospel of Jesus Christ chapter 1..
Thus did Noah;
according to all that God commanded him, so did he. (Gen 6:22)
What Noah did was to obey God concerning the way of salvation. For that task he had sufficient grace, and he did all that God commanded him to do without deviation through the grace God adminstered to Noah.
Just as God did for Noah, so He will do more so for us in the way of salvation, if we obey Him, because the fulness of grace and truth has come through Jesus Christ.
This is why Paul says in Romans that in spite of sin abound (5:30) grace did much more abound. Grace is stronger than sin and more powerful. Grace is not equal to sin but far superior. Sin is of the devil. Grace is of God. The devil is finite. God is infinite. Sin is powerful. God’s grace is all powerful because it issues from the Almighty.
God wants His grace mulitplying in us so that we may OVERCOME sin which is constantly seeking to destroy us by stealth and deception.
The choice is ours. Grace will enable us to live rightly before God. It will work to produce in you and me holy desires. It will not produce desires contrary to God’s holy and faithful nature which is revealed in His Word the Holy Bible.
Come to Jesus and hide yourself in Him. He in whom all grace abounds, will flood your soul and spirit with Himself as you surrender yourself before Him. His grace will multiply as you feast on the riches of His grace which are spoken of in the Holy Scriptures – the Holy Bible, but which work mightily by the Holy Spirit of Grace. You have been called to rule over the sins that seek to destroy you and condemn you to Hell and the Lake of Fire, which is the Second death. Avail yourself of God’s grace today. Call out, cry out to Jesus Christ. He alone can and will save you if you trust Him completely with everything. He is faithful and true.
“Now the God of all grace,
the One calling you to His eternal glory in Christ Jesus,
you having suffered a little,
Himself will perfect, confirm, strengthen, establish you.
To Him be the glory and the might forever and ever.
1 Peter 5:10,11 (LITV)
