God is faithful
and all His words are faithful.
When He speaks, He speaks out of His faithfulness.
His love is faithful.
His mercy is faithful.
His justice is faithful.
His goodness is faithful.
His holiness is faithful.
Paul the apostle of Jesus Christ writes: “Faithful is the word: for if we died with Him, we shall also live with Him; if we endure, we shall also reign with Him; if we deny Him, He will deny us; if we are unfaithful, He remains faithful; He is not able to deny Himself. ” 2 Timothy 2:11-13
While God is not untouched by our feelings, our pains, our troubles and our sins, these things do not change Him. He remains the same.
“Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8
This statement is referring to Jesus and His divine nature; He is the unchangeable God.
His body of flesh changed while He was being formed in the womb of His earthly mother. His body changed as He grew from infancy to Manhood. His body changed while He was brutally tortured for He bore the sins of the whole world – yours and mine. (Isaiah 53)
As to His human nature, He changed with respect to His feelings; on some occasions He was sad, on other occasions He was joyful, and at other times He was angry against those who treated their fellow humans with injustice or contempt, or with those who had no respect for His Father’s temporal house – the Temple and desecrated it with their greed and injustice.
He changed with respect to acquired or learnt temporal human knowledge.
But He did not change with respect to His divine nature. Nor shall He ever so change. Nor shall He change any more with respect to His resurrected body of flesh, for the resurrected body of Jesus Christ is the same kind of body that we shall receive, we who endure till the end in faithfulness with Him and to Him.
Today, and tomorrow and the next day, you can rely on Jesus Christ to be faithful in all that He has said. Listen to Him as you read the pages of the Bible and trust in Him alone, and not in the arm of frail and feeble men.
Do not give first place to a man or a woman as your Salvation, or Redeemer, or Comforter or your Peace.
Give what is due to mankind – to mankind, but give what is due to God – to God.
Men will fail you. We fail one another. But God will never fail to keep His word. He cannot deny Himself.
Call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ today. Flee from your life of sin and rebellion against Him. Flee from fornication and idolatry. Flee from lies and deceit. Flee from hypocrisy and flattery. Do not fill your eyes with evil things or your ears with evil words.
Whatever is good and true, faithful and trustworthy, honourable and just and pure, fill your hearts and minds with these things.
God is faithful. And He calls you to a life of faithfulness with Him.
And hearing, they were stabbed in the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, Men, brothers, What shall we do?
And Peter said to them, Repent and be baptized, each of you in the name of Jesus Christ for remission of sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is unto you and to your children, and to all those afar off, as many as the Lord our God shall call.” Acts 2:37-38
