People enjoy getting new things.  Much of our consumption of goods is about getting new things.  Sometimes we get something new and keep the old thing.

But for much of the time, the new thing will permanently replace the old thing, and the old thing will be thrown out as garbage to be buried, burnt, or recycled.  Good riddance!

Worms and other critters turn kitchen waste and paper into brand new earth.  What was old is made into something completely new and nothing like its former state.  The soil is teeming with untold billions of little creatures, worms, millipedes, slater bugs and other visible creatures and many microscopic bacteria.  Without these friends our earth would become stale, disgusting and smelly.  The soil is being renewed day by day.

So in this temporal sphere we know that there is much replacing of things old with new, in different ways.

God, who has revealed Himself through His Son Jesus Christ, has spoken about making ALL  things new.

Through His prophet Isaiah, God says to the nation Israel  “Thou hast heard, see all this; and will not ye declare it? I have shewed thee new things from this time, even hidden things, and thou didst not know them. “  Isa 48:6

God shewed them things they never had known before.   Those things were completely new to them.

Ignorance is not always bliss. When we are ignorant, it means we do not know.  And God wants us to know some things.  Every person has limited knowledge, which means we do not know most things.  But God wanted yet to reveal ‘new’ things to His people, if only they would obey His voice and keep His commands – commands which were already revealed to them.

Moses says the secret things belong to God, but the things revealed belong to us that we may do them…. ” The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.” Deuteronomy 29:29

Isaiah says of God – “I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right. ” Isa 45:19
Daniel says of God “He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.” Dan 2:22.

Matthew said concerning Jesus parables –  “That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.” Matt 13:35

God has always wanted to reveal more of Himself  to His people,  yes, even to the world, if they would but listen and obey.

To those who put their trust in Lord Jesus Christ and in His words, and follow Him  faithfully, God says this through Paul the apostle of Christ… ” Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. “  2 Cor 5:17

To believe in  Jesus Christ is to obey Him, and to obey Him gladly and willingly is to be in Him.  All the old guilt, shame, sordidness, useless way of living, fear of death, and darkness of soul, is removed by Jesus Christ as He washes our conscience and soul with His own blood and brings His light and love, His peace and rest and the hope of the salvation yet to come at His appearing, and promise of eternal Life which is in Him alone.

The last statement in Holy Scripture about what is to be new is by our Lord Jesus who spoke to John while he was a prisoner on the Isle of Patmos… “And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.”  Revelation 21:5

Of the new heavens and new earth God said He will make, Isaiah also says – “For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.”  Isa 65:17

And again in Isaiah … “For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. “  Isa 66:22

Peter prophesies “Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.” 2 Peter 3:13

God is going to remove this old earth, regardless of its shape or size, and he is going to remove the heavens surrounding it, atmosphere, space, and replace both with a brand new earth and new heavens, made for those who love righteousness.  Only the righteous will live there.  Those who love unrighteousness will be in that other place.

“And, “You, Lord, at the beginning founded the earth, and the heavens are works of Your hands.
They will vanish away, but You will continue; and they will all become old, like a garment,
and You shall fold them up like a covering, and they shall be changed. But You are the same, and Your years shall not fail.”  Hebrews 1:10-12

Because of all the wickedness of men and devils played out on this old earth and in the firmanent called atmosphere, heaven or space, it must be done away with.  The thing that has become tarnished is not good enough for a final home for the redeemed of the Lord God.

If a house has been infected to the point of compromise in its stucture, it will be torn down and removed and a brand new house will be built in its place.  But if the land as well as the house has been compromised with toxic materials which cannot be cleaned out, then both land and house are condemned.  And this is the case with with this old earth and old heavens.  It will have served its purpose God intended.

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and the sea no longer is.” Rev 21:1

And cannot the manufacturer and owner of an object do as he pleases with that which belongs to him?

Every thing we call solid is not solid at all.  Solid matter is made up mostly of space between the particular parts of each atom.

It is estimated that the space in a hydrogen atom is about 99.9999999999996% empty space. It has one proton in it, but the proton itself is not all solid matter. So then, how solid IS solid?

God who made all things visible and invisible, made stuff – atoms, out of nothing.  It is He who keeps all things held together by the word of His power.

“Who (Jesus) being the brightness of His (God’s) glory, and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power (ability), when He (Jesus) had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high (God the Father)” Hebrews 1:3

Every atom, and all sub atomic particles are held together by the word of Jesus Chist who has all power (ability) and authority of all things both in Heaven and in earth see Matthew 28:18

So it is no big thing for God who made all things physical to keep all those things intact and then in His time to cause them all to disappear into nothing.

But the soul and spirit of each person is not physiocal matter, nor is it chemistry.  The soul and spirit of each person – the real person, is spiritual.  God breathed into the first man’s nostrils His own breath – spirit – the breath of life.  That caused an individual soul to appear.   That man could stand upright from the word go.

But that man rebelled against his Maker before any children were born to him by his wife Eve.  This meant that all the children to follow would be born into sin – that unhappy state that our first father Adam brought into being.

“Because of this, even as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, so also death passed to all men, inasmuch as all sinned.” Romans 5:12

Sin did not enter into this world through the devil, but by one man – Adam.

However, we are all rebels at heart; no one born from a man and a woman has been perfect from that day to this.  We as to our souls are corrupted as is the flesh we live in.  In that corrupted state, our spirits are dead to God but alive to sin. And as such we are slaves to sin because we continually yield to sin.

But God wants to make that all new.  He wants to make us right, clean, acceptable, pure in deed and in truth before Him.  And there is only one Way that could or will ever happen.  That is by putting our faith, our believing, our trust, our hope in Jesus Christ – Son of God and Son of Man.   He alone was perfect, though He was tempted as much as we are today; He remained pure and by hiding the Word of God in His mind soul and heart, He kept His life pure.  and being pure He could qualify for being the sacrifice for sin – yours and mine, even the sin of the whole world.

John the baptist testified of Jesus, “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” John 1:29, again he says the next day – “And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God” John 1:36.

Will you look intently upon Jesus, eyeball to eyeball by faith, and cast yourself upon His mercy, His forgiveness, His salvation, His word which is rich toward you if you would only believe.

John the apostle says – “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.”  Rev 21:1

And again he says – “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Rev 21:4

Are you ready for that day?

You are more than chemistry, more than electrcial currents with a positive and negative charge.  You are more than physical, observable and measureable matter, which simply decomposes into oher matter in the ground when your body dies.

Your breath is not simply fresh air, but is connnected to your spirit.  Your breath is what God gave you personally at birth.  He will require it of you one day… and then what will your answer to Him be?

Things are winding up in this world while the world and the heavens above are winding down. There will be no safe place to run to except to Jesus Christ.  Those who trust in Him, may have to forfeit their mortal life, but they will never be ashamed.

Jesus said – “He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.”  John 12:25

If you put your own existence on this earth as the main thing, then you will lose your soul.  But if you consider your existence on this earth simply as a gift of God and serve Him first and foremost in the way that He has prescibed in His word, then you will keep your soul unto eternal Life.

“And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life,

and this life is in his Son.”

1 John 5:11

“But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.”            1 Peter 4:7

“And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” Revelation 20:11-15

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.”  Rev 21:1

“And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.  And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.”   Rev 22:3-5

“And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”  Rev 22:12-20
